Biotechnology is a science that is dedicated to studying organisms and how to make them beneficial to us, for example, the use of yeast to make bread, make larger and more nutritious fruits and vegetables or current vaccines against the coronavirus, all except The Sinovac are made with biotechnology techniques, not everything is good with this career, there are some purist organizations, anti-chemists that are dedicated to discredit the advances of this science, for example, a genetically modified rice was created to be more nutritious for growing children or for people in a state of malnutrition, Greenpeace came to discredit it without good reasons, that agriculture is going to be monopolized and things like that, in my opinion there are no reasons to believe
that, since the modified rice was created by a university with public funds, they also released the patent so that anyone could cultivate them. This has been the controversy that this career has been carrying, but I think it is the future of food and medicine, another bad thing is that in Chile there is no job offer in this profession, even so, I would have liked to study that as well.
